Business View Formulas FAQs

What is a business view?

A business view is a combination of entities (tables, views, and flat files) which make it easy for a non-technical user to build a report. This is comparable to an EDQ which a user can generate in the Query Designer.

Which ERPs are currently supported?

This feature is available for Oracle EBS, NetSuite 2, Deltek Vantage Point, and Deltek Vision ERPs.

What are the licenses required to use business view formulas?

With the Designer license for Spreadsheet Server and Angles and access to Platform, authorized users can run business view formulas.

How do I create new business views if the required data is not available from one of the standard business views?

Users with the Designer license can create new business views in Angles. They can also use the Export data button in the Spreadsheet Server ribbon to build a CSV file in Excel and export the data to Angles to create new business views.

How do I manage access to business views?

Users can view the list of business views based on permissions set within Angles. Spreadsheet Server does not manage access or authorization of business views locally.

How can I see the newly added or assigned business views within Angles in Spreadsheet Server?

Use the refresh button against the business view selection drop-down menu to sync any newly added or assigned business views in Angles with Spreadsheet Server and load the entire list.

Will the functions of the new business view formulas match the standard Spreadsheet Server formulas?

The GA release provides additional features like custom layout, fill down column, execute reports, additional filters, and select all checkbox like the standard Spreadsheet Server formulas.

Do I have to set up two ERP connections to run business view formulas?

For EAP, Spreadsheet Server requires users to set up ERP connections in the Application Configurator and Angles. With GA, it will require only one connection.

Will the connections and business views used with EAP work with GA?

Yes, the connections and business views users create in EAP will continue to work with GA.

Does Spreadsheet Server adhere to the visual filter settings?

No, this is only applicable to visualizations in Angles.
