Step 10: Application Security

Application security contains criteria to control encryption of files, disabling of features in Spreadsheet Server, and changing system-delivered passwords used to access and/or process various functions in Spreadsheet Server.

  1. From the Application Configurator panel, select the Application Security tab. The Application Security panel appears.
  2. From the Application Configurator panel, select the Application Security tab. The Application Security panel appears.
  3. Use the following table to enter data in the Application Security panel:

    Description

    Security Options:

     

    Encrypt Files (requires associated password to be changed from default value):

     

    Security and Connection Files

    If selected, the system encrypts the security and connection files. The Administrator Login password must be specified.

    Designer GL Files

    If selected, the system encrypts the Designer GL files. The Designer GL: Browse for GL Definition Button password must be specified.

    Ad Hoc Files

    If selected, the system encrypts the ad hoc files. The Ad Hoc Queries: Editing password must be specified.

    Query Files

    If selected, the system encrypts the query (EDQ) files.

    Disable Features:

     

    Ad Hoc Queries

    If selected, all ad hoc query options are unavailable for all users.

    Designer GL

    If selected, all Designer GL options are unavailable for all users.

    Passwords:

     

    Application Configurator:

     

    Administrator Login Screen

    Specify the password to be entered in the Administrator Login dialog, when opening Spreadsheet Server. Type the same password in the associated Confirm Password field.

    Settings:

     

    General: Network Security & Connections File Browse Button

    Specify the password to be entered when assigning the location of the network security and connection files in the General Settings panel. Type the same password in the associated Confirm Password field.

    Ledger Specifics:

     

    Designer GL: Browse for GL Definition Button

    Specify the password to be entered when retrieving a Designer GL definition in the Ledger Specifics > Designer GL Settings panel. Type the same password in the associated Confirm Password field.

    Oracle: Set Segment Number for All Ledgers Button

    Specify the password to be entered to process the function of assigning the same segment number used for descriptions, to all ledgers (sets of books) in the Ledger Specifics > Oracle Settings panel. Type the same password in the associated Confirm Password field.

    SAP: Special Ledgers Option

    Specify the password to be entered to access the SAP Special Ledgers panel in the Settings function. Type the same password in the associated Confirm Password field.

    Ad Hoc Queries: Editing

    Specify the password to be entered to edit ad hoc queries in the Ad Hoc Queries Settings panel. Type the same password in the associated Confirm Password field.

    Segment List Maintenance:

     

    Cleanup Segment List Database Toolbar Button

    Specify the password to be entered to process the Cleanup Segment List Database function in the Segment List Maintenance panel. Type the same password in the associated Confirm Password field.

    Unlock Segment List Toolbar Button Override

    Specify the password to be entered when unlocking segment list(s), and the individual segment list password(s) is lost or forgotten. Type the same password in the associated Confirm Password field.

    Accounts Profile:

     

    Unlock Accounts Profile Button Override

    Specify the password to be entered when unlocking account profiles, and the password is lost or forgotten. Type the same password in the associated Confirm Password field.

  5. Click Save, then Yes, to push the changes to the network location.
