Add a New Host Configuration for SAP

The following General Ledger application settings apply to all users licensed when using a SAP General Ledger type or when connecting to a SAP Designer GL, whether processing the General Ledger, Query or Query Designer feature. This article describes how to add a Host configuration for SAP.

  1. From the Application Configurator panel, select the Application Settings tab. The Application Settings panel appears.
  2. Click the SAP tab.
  3. To create a new host configuration, from the ribbon, click the New button. The system adds a new host configuration in the navigation pane, and the SAP > Host Configuration panel appears.
  4. Use the following table to enter data in the SAP > Host Configuration panel:
  5. Field

    Description

    Connection Type

Click the drop-down list, and, select the appropriate connection type. The selected connection type determines the fields available in the panel.

Note: Legacy SAP GUI only functions in a 32-bit environment.

    Connection Name

    Specify the connection name.

    System

For SAP NetCo 3.0 connection types, click the ellipses button ( ... ), and select the desired system. Otherwise, leave the field blank, to default to <SIGN-ON>, indicating the user will specify the system when they connect to the database.

Note: if SAP system names are not consistent in an organization, it is recommended to leave the value set to <SIGN-ON>.

For SAP NetCo 3.0 connection types, specify the SAP client.

If selected, additional input fields are enabled for entering processing criteria.

    Kerberos/NTLM

If Use Single Sign-On is selected, specify whether Kerberos or NTLM (NT LAN Manager) security protocols are used for authentication.

    Security DLL Path

If Use Single Sign-On is selected, type the path, or, use the Browse button to select the location of the SAP security DLL file. The default path references the DLL file used for Kerberos and, is set to: C:\Windows\System32\gsskrb5.dll (32-bit) or C:\Windows\SysWOW64\gx64krb5.dll (64-bit).

Note: This path may be overridden at the user level, based on the Security DLL Path defined in the user's Spreadsheet Server Settings.

CO Ledger: Enforce SAP COSP Company Security

If selected, COSP company security is applied, when retrieving data for the SAPCO ledger.

Set as default connection for Spreadsheet Server formulas

If selected, the SAP host configuration is used for processing Spreadsheet Server formulas, if a specific connection is not defined in the formula.

Allow SAP Query (SQ00) execution on this connection

If selected, queries built in SAP may be executed in Excel, using Spreadsheet Server query formulas for the SAP host configuration.

Ignore port number when connecting to host

If selected, the port number is ignored while connecting.
